Ballance House in Glenavy is hosting Apple Day on October 17th as part of a nationwide day to promote the preservation of orchards and all customs associaited with apple growing.
There'll be locally grown apples and apple juice for sale and face painting, tombolas and craft stalls - all to celebrate the apple.
it's free for children and only £2 for adults and it sounds like an ideal way to spend a Saturday with the weather promising to be good.
Ballance House is the first house of former New Zealand Prime Minister John Ballance, who was known as the 'Rainmaker' and introduced many liberal reforms whilst in office.
