Belfast City Council's Good Relations Unit is hosting a history talk in the Banqueting Hall of the City Hall on 24th September at 7pm.
'Gallipoli - much more than the Anzac story' examines the local contribution to this difficult campaign of 1915.
Philip Orr and Nigel Henderson will explore experiences of the Dardenelles and Gallipoli campaigns through personal experiences.
Philip Orr will focus on one soldier called Guy Nightingale from the Royal Munster Fusiliers. He kept a diary and wrote letters which he sent home.
Nigel Henderson will examine the lives of selected service personnel from all nine counties of Ulster, who served at Gallipoli with particular reference to the sinking of HMS Goliath.
