Silver Sunday in Belfast
Sunday, 4 October, 2015 - 14:15 - 15:00
Belfast City Council's Age Friendly Belfast team are organising some special events for Silver Sunday, which is planned for October 4th.
Beside the Ulster Museum in Stranmillis lies Friar's Bush Graveyard, which is the oldest christian burial ground in Belfast.
Many of Belfast's most celebrated citizens were laid to rest in this graveyard, including the master baker and philanthropist Barney Hughes. Several of his family were involved in the development of The Irish News, and the graves of other writers are in evidence at Friar's Bush.
The talk and walk will take about forty five minutes and there'll be opportunity to chat to the guide as you go.
It's an interesting tour and an opportunity to learn more about the city's past. Check out the website for more details, or telephone 028 90502073.
