On November 6th, Avoneil Leisure Centre in east belfast hosts its Winter Warmer event and everyone's invited!

It's a winter planning event aimed at helping older people prepare for the forthcoming winter and there'll be a particular focus on the most vulnerable and isolated older people in the community.

The event is coordinated by community, voluntary and local government groups, who will 'man' stands at the event and be able to help you with lots of useful information and tips for the forthcoming difficult months.

These talks are province wide. Any group of people agred over sixty years can contact Advice NI and I'll be happy to come out and give them a free talk. The topics covered include: saving, budgeting, dealing with debt and scams. I find there is always scope for more information, so I provide a short four page piece called 'Additional Information' with lots of info about winter allowance, boiler replacement, shopping and health tips and much more besides.
